We are Leopold Meijnen Oosterbaan. We are based at Raadhuisstraat 52C, 1016DG Amsterdam, The Netherlands. In this privacy notice we describe:

•    The ways we collect personal data about you when you visit our website or contact us and why we do so.
•    How we use your personal data, and
•    The choices you have about your personal data. 

We are committed to a lawful, fair and transparent processing of personal data. 

1.    The data we process 
When you contact us by mail or phone, we collect any information you share with us, including your name and contact details, and the company or organization you are associated with. 

When you are our client or a prospective client who reached out to us, information in relation to the legal services we provide to the company or organization you are associated with, such as your request, our advice, communication in relation to the case and specifications of fee notes,

When you visit our website, we do not obtain analytics data.

2.    What do we use the data for
We use the above data to respond to your request, and to deliver our legal services to your company or organization.

We also use the information to manage our relationship with you.

And finally, complying with all legal obligations including disclosure obligations.

3.    Our legal basis for processing data 
We base the processing of personal data on the legitimate interest of us and the company or organization you are associated with to deliver our legal services.

In case you are not a client or do not work for a company or organization that is a client, we base the processing on our legitimate interest to keep a record of all communications for future reference, and to stay in touch with you.

4.    Who we share data with
We share data with our email provider, who acts as our processor under the GDPR. We specifically chose a provider that can offer a Netherlands-based cloud, and no data is stored outside of the European Economic Area.

5.    How long and where do we store data 
For emails and files that we keep, we store those for a minimum of 5 years to comply with our record keeping obligations.

6.    How do we protect data 
Taking into account the nature, scope, context and purpose of the processing, we have taken the following technical and organizational measures:
•    Our information systems, and the information contained therein, are protected with access control. We use 2FA and encryption (at rest and in transit) whenever possible.
•    Access to our information systems is limited, not all staff in our organization have full access. 

7.    If you are in Europe – transfer of your personal data
You should also know that your personal data may be transferred from your home country to third parties, for example if we involve someone from outside of the EEA for our service. If you are an EEA or UK resident, this could imply that we also transfer data to countries that do not offer an adequate level of protection for your personal data. When we transfer this data, we will do so only when we have put in place appropriate safeguards to protect your personal data. Please contact us to get a copy of the safeguards that we have put in place. Our contact details are at the bottom of this text.

8.    Your rights
No matter where you live, you have the right to request access to your personal data that we process. You also have the right to:
•    Rectify incorrect personal data or erase it in certain circumstances. 
•    Restrict or object to the processing of your personal data.
•    Receive your data so that you can use it elsewhere (data portability).

If you are based in an EU Member State, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local EU data protection authority for unresolved complaints.

This website uses a functional cookie from Adobe Typekit. Otherwise, we don’t use them.
